We are able to provide a variety of services, from producing a design and obtaining Planning Permission and Building Warrant, to aiding you in choosing a contractor and inspecting their work on site.
Project size can vary from adding an en-suite or extension, to garage and loft conversions and complete new build projects for both the domestic and commercial sectors.
Brief Develoment/Feasibility Study
We have experience in assisting clients work out what they require in a project; from basic room sizes and functions, to daylighting and appearance. Once this has been established a feasiblity study can be prepared before moving onto the next stage.
This permission is not always required depending on the size and scope of your project. We can advise on all aspects on the planning process. Where no planning permission is required we can also obtain a Certificate of Lawfulness.
For most projects a Building Warrant will be required. This is a separate process to the Planning Application and deals with ensuring that the works meet certain technical and safety standards. Catriona Peden Architect will work wth you to secure this permission which is required before starting work on site.
To ensure that your project runs smoothly on site and realistic costs are obtained before the works commence we would always recommend that a tender package of drawings and specification are prepared.
Depending on the complexity of the project we can offer a site inspection role where required. On larger projects a Contract Administration role can be undertaken.
The fees for each project will be tailored to suit your needs. We will give you a fee proposal that is broken down into the various stages allowing you to determine your requirements. We are flexible to which stages you agree to and at what point in the project.
You may also require other consultants such as a Structural Engineer who you would appoint separately. We can suggest consultants to obtain quotes from.
